When traveling to Germany on of my favorite places to visit is Wetzlar, which is located in central Hesse. It features an amazingly well-preserved and restored Old Town (Altstadt), with historic plazas, a 13th century Cathedral (Dom) and scores of half-timbered houses.You definitely want to visit Wetzlar’s Dom (Cathedral). It is one of Wetzlar’s landmark buildings. Building work began on the cathedral in 1230 and is still not finished. It is the successor to a former “Church of the Saviour” consecrated in 897. Wetzlar’s Dom incorporates so many styles that it is like a stone album of German ecclesiastical architecture. Each master seems to have had his own ideas.Travel along the Rhine in Germany and you will find an area rich in history and adventure around every turn. The castle at Wurzberg is on the World Heritage List it was partially destroyed during World War II. The castle was completely restored to its fine example of Baroque style.Although some of the stores in this mall accept credit cards, most of them actually do not. Either you have to have enough cash, or you can use a debit card issues by a German bank (e.g., “Scheckkarte”). Be prepared and try to get some cash before visiting stores.
Supermarkets – If you shop for groceries in Germany you will notice the supermarkets have all of their large rolling carts outside in a designated area and they are locked to one another. In order to utilize a cart you must place one EUR in the cart itself, you will see the slot on the handle. Upon leaving the supermarket you latch the cart back to the other carts and pull the device out where you placed the coin, now you can retrieve your coin. When you have all of the groceries you want, proceed to the check-out counter.From the first moment you get on board, your attention will be drawn to Berlin’s many architectural highlights, both old and new. You will slowly pass by the Charlottenburg and Bellevue Castles, the Chancellor’s Office, the Reichstag (Parliament building), the Museum-Island, the Cathedral, and the TV Tower.The ski jumpers will take off with a speed of 106 Km/h, and when they land their speed has further increased to 130 Km/h. From the highest launch point to the last landing is 207 meters of height distance with the tower rising up to 72 meters over the snowy hard ground below. Modern and elegant, the new design tower at Oberstdorf is of a compressed concrete construction with a flying track raked at 39 degrees.
They offer various packages. In their basic package you rent the canoes and all the equipment, incl. pick-up of the canoes after the tour. Before the canoe tour they provide you with tips and guidance to make sure you know how to get along on the Lahn river. For a day tour the price is 17 Euro per person for this package. It starts in Loehnberg until Fuhrfurt, over Runkel.You will get even more out of their Clubtour. This tour starts in the morning at 9:30 am at Frankfurter Strasse 23 in Weilburg. They give you a tour and overview about the canoes at the Weilburger Bootshaus. The canoe tour itself then takes 3 hours. Enjoy the great scenery along the Lahn river, historic castles, and more.
