How does typical Spaniard look?
Do they really look middel eastern like the media in America trys to make them look? Show me pictures of how typical spaniard looks like for those of you who have actually traveled Spain before.
They are white Europeans. The media tends to show them all as tanned and black haired but this is a stereotype like the Irish all having red hair (in fact nearly 50% of the Irish have dark brown) or all Germans being blonde. Southern spain is darker than the north; in the north you get fair and even red hair and often light eyes too.
The old chestnut about the Moors is just that,a story. Dna testing has shown that only a few percent of Spaniards have moorish ancestry. the Moors were only there a few hundred years; the natives of Spain have been there since the Ice Age! The two peoples didn’t mingle much either-hey, political correctness and interfaith marriage wasn’t big in the Middle Ages!
genetically people from Iberia in prehistoric times re-populated most of western Europe; indeed the British and the Irish in particular still carry much of this geneflow.
