Orbitz airline tickets?
I just booked a United Airlines flight to Philadelphia on Orbitz. It says that I will be taking a United flight for the first leg of my trip to Chicago, then it says my Flight to Philadelphia is on “United Operated by US Airways”? So does this mean that I’m going on Us Airways or United to Philadelphia? And if I have to take US Airways do I have to re-check in at Chicago??
You’ll be flying from Chicago to PHL on a codeshare flight on a US Airways plane and US Airways crew. You do not have to re-check in again in Chicago and should get both boarding passes at your original departure airport. You’ll also have any checked luggage forwarded through to PHL.
US Airways and United are Star Alliance partner airlines and have interline ticketing and baggage forwarding agreements. Although your flight is operated by US Airways, it will have both US Airways and United flight numbers.
